Most people try to avoid adversity and suffering, but there’s a reason for everything that happens. Relying on God when trouble shows up allows Him to mature us, strengthening and preparing us for our assignment. It’s inevitable that we’ll encounter trouble in our lives; however, nothing great ever happens without going through a situation. Moving out of immaturity changes our thinking until we no longer walk in unforgiveness or self-righteousness or mistreat others. Christian maturity calls for a radical reorganization of our priorities, from pleasing ourselves to pleasing God. Faith in His promises causes us to grow and develop, so that we become blessed to be a blessing to others. Not running away from the painful, difficult times brings us to progressively higher levels in which God can use us powerfully.
