Daily Devotionals
Would you like to read the Word daily, but don’t know how to begin? Reading our Daily Devotionals is a good way to develop the habit of studying the scriptures.
December 4
“Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage” (Galatians 5:1).
True freedom and independence come from relying on Jesus and what He did for us on the cross. Because of Him, we’re free from the sin that once imprisoned us, and we can overcome the world.
December 3
“Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?” (John 11:25, 26).
Jesus challenged her to believe God’s promise of eternal life. We are likewise challenged to believe what we can’t see with our physical eyes. When we walk through a cemetery and view headstone after headstone to find the one that belongs to our loved one, we can remember that Jesus has conquered death on our behalf.
December 2
“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen” (Matthew 28:19, 20).
God’s children are commanded to go into the spiritual wilderness of the world and preach the gospel of Jesus. As we do this, we can stand on the same promise that God made to Moses and the children of Israel—He will never leave us.
December 1
“And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest” (Exodus 33:14).
God promised to always protect and guide Moses in the wilderness; we have the same promise today. Wherever we go in life and whatever situations we find ourselves in, God will never abandon us. We can call on Him for strength, and He will give us rest when we are weary.
November 30
“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10).
God fashioned us in His own image, and every cell and molecule in our bodies is lovingly and wonderfully made for a divine purpose. Realizing this enables us to minister to others who desperately need to experience His love.
November 29
“So be done with every trace of wickedness (depravity, malignity) and all deceit and insincerity (pretense, hypocrisy) and grudges (envy, jealousy) and slander and evil speaking of every kind” (1 Peter 2:1, AMPC).
As Christians, we’re to let God transform us from the inside out, cleaning out all the spiritual filth and gunk the world has instilled in us and letting the Holy Spirit fill us with His love. As our minds and hearts transform over time, others will eventually notice an outward change in our personality.
