December 15
“Understand [this], my beloved brethren. Let every man be quick to hear [a ready listener], slow to speak, slow to take offense and to get angry” (James 1:19, AMPC).
The ability to truly listen is a gift from God that leads to wisdom and discernment. The wisdom to know when to keep silent and the discernment to resist the spirit of anger are pleasing to God.
December 14
“But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy” (James 3:17, NKJV).
True wisdom doesn’t originate from the world; it’s a gift from heaven. We mustn’t confuse book learning or worldly knowledge with God’s wisdom, which is perfect, righteous, and unchanging.
December 13
“The Lord hath taken away thy judgments, he hath cast out thine enemy: the king of Israel, even the Lord, is in the midst of thee: thou shalt not see evil any more” (Zephaniah 3:15).
When Jesus went to the cross and established the covenant of grace, He removed the curse that had hung over humanity since Adam and Eve. The finished works of Jesus give us victory over the enemy and guarantees us success in Him. There’s no reason to fear anything because God promises to be with us always.
December 12
“The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing” (Zephaniah 3:17, NKJV).
Believers are God’s beloved children. He’ll stop at nothing to protect us and keep us safe from harm. Our focus on His love drives out all fear and anxiety. Just as a mother rejoices over her children, so He rejoices over us.
December 11
“And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him” (1 John 4:16, NKJV).
Everything God has ever done, from creating the universe to sending His Son to give us salvation and everlasting life, He did out of love. God is the very essence of love, and Jesus is a perfect reflection of His Father. Never underestimate the power of love—it’s eternal, and not even death can overcome it.
December 10
“Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies… She watches over the ways of her household, And does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praises her” (Proverbs 31:10, 27, 28, NKJV).
A godly wife who patterns her life according to the Word is a true blessing to her family. Maintaining a peaceful and well-run home can seem like an invisible task. Nevertheless, God’s values are different than the world’s values, and He sees every household.
