February 2
“Oh, thank God—he’s so good! His love never runs out. All of you set free by God, tell the world! Tell how he freed you from oppression” (Psalm 107:1, 2, MSG).
Many of us have placed ourselves in bondage by accepting the world’s defeatist way of thinking. Jesus is the only one who can truly set us free from this type of attitude, transform our minds, and teach us true wisdom. He does this out of love for us.
February 1
“An intelligent person is always eager to take in more truth; fools feed on fast-food fads and fancies” (Proverbs 15:14, MSG).
True wisdom and intelligence come from God, not the world. As believers, we must be careful not to be influenced by the talk from “experts” designed merely to tickle our ears. This kind of talk changes daily based on what the world wants to hear at the moment, but it’s not based on God’s eternal truths.
January 31
“You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house” (Matthew 5:14, 15, NLT).
As Christians, we’re not supposed to blend into the background and stay hidden—God wants us to stand out and draw attention. We’ve been set apart specifically to fulfill the mission He gave us to reach others.
January 30
“Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear” (Matthew 13:43).
We live in in a confused world with no spiritual understanding. People are looking for answers but finding none; letting Jesus Christ shine through us sheds light on every situation and illuminates the answers impossible to see in the dark.
January 29
“While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light” (John 12:36).
Being born again makes us children of God and lights in a dark world. The darker the world gets in these end times, the brighter we’ll shine; there’s no extinguishing the light of Christ in us.
January 28
“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light” (Ephesians 5:8, NKJV).
Before we got born again, we were of the world, which doesn’t have the light of Christ. Accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior makes us God’s children; we have a responsibility to conduct ourselves accordingly.
