October 28
“And he said to him, ‘Son, you are always with me, and all that I have is yours. It was right that we should make merry and be glad, for your brother was dead and is alive again, and was lost and is found’” (Luke 15:31, 32, NKJV).
God’s children have been given the mission of spreading the Gospel of Grace to a lost world that doesn’t know Him. It is a cause for celebration in heaven when even one soul is saved.
October 27
“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1, NIV).
We’ve all had moments when we realized we made a bad decision and felt tempted to beat ourselves up over it. However, Jesus went to the cross and took all the condemnation meant for us so that we wouldn’t have to suffer the pain of self-condemnation.
October 26
“This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvellous in our eyes” (Psalm 118:23).
God is a good God, and He’s always waiting for opportunities to intercede and do good things for us. His work is unmistakable; when we notice breakthrough that we’re not responsible for and could never achieve on our own, we need to pause and give Him the credit.
October 25
“Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back” (Luke 6:38, NLT).
We don’t ever have to be afraid to give financially; generous giving positions us to receive the blessings Jesus has already made available to us. We can give with confidence because we can never outgive God.
October 24
“And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love” (Romans 5:5, NLT).
Having faith in God’s love gives us hope. We’ll never be disappointed in this hope because the Holy Spirit, who lives inside every believer, constantly reminds us every day of the Father’s love for us.
October 23
“There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death” (Proverbs 14:12).
Relying on our own resources, education, cleverness, or limited intellectual knowledge can lead us astray. We avoid this spiritual danger by relying on God’s Word in every situation.
