What It Means to Fall from Grace

For proper biblical understanding and clear spiritual vision, believers must grasp the nature of grace. God offers it to us whether we deserve it or not; He even extends it to those who haven’t been saved. Our behavior has nothing to do with receiving grace; our faith has everything to do with it. Salvation has been made available to everyone on the planet, even to those who haven’t been born again. Jesus died for sinners; God is now appealing to mankind to accept Him and believe in what He did for all of us. Falling from grace isn’t falling into sin the way religion tells us, but instead, its falling back into selfeffort and trusting in ourselves more than in God.

Maintaining Your Righteous Stance (Part 2)

Summary

The coming year will be a pivotal point for Christians; the changes it will bring include a split within the church in which people fall away from the faith and their love grows cold. There will be plenty of slander, conflict, and offense, and people will compromise their values; however, we’ll recover from that. Globally, governments will team up and become allies in preparation for the anti-Christ, whose mission it will be to destroy God’s church; on a personal level, there will be a vicious attack on our souls, in which the devil will try to get us to question our righteousness in Christ. He’ll use shame, guilt, and condemnation over our past mistakes and sins to accomplish this. However, our identity is based not on what we do, but on what Jesus did; standing firm on this in the midst of Satan’s attacks keeps us spiritually safe.

Maintaining Your Righteous Stance

Summary

In these last days, we’ll see unprecedented global changes, but not all of them will be good. Persecution will increase as part of Satan’s targeted attack against believers and against God’s church. The enemy will use shame, guilt, and condemnation as weapons; we’re to respond by standing in our righteousness and in our identity in Christ. No matter what our past looks like or what we’ve done, our faith in Jesus causes God to see us as holy and pure; believing that Jesus has already taken care of our sins by the sacrifice of His body and blood takes us from being sinners to being saints.

The Chastening of the Lord

Summary

Living under grace as believers means we are God’s children. As our heavenly Father, He loves us enough to chasten and correct us as needed. It is painful while we are going through it, but it is not punishment; chastening is a sign that we are God’s son or daughter. It is God’s way of dealing with our sins, but doing so in love. Just like the purification process gold goes through to burn out all impurities, God uses the chastening process to remove everything in us that’s displeasing to Him—including self-dependence. This type of impurity includes all self- centeredness, all self-will, and all tendencies to take the glory and credit for God’s blessings for ourselves. We are unlike the unsaved world that doesn’t know Jesus and therefore does not undergo the chastening process; we therefore can rejoice when we do undergo it.

The Attractiveness of God’s Grace

Summary

God’s ways of operating are completely different than man’s ways, and much more effective in changing us for the better and causing us to want to live godly. The world uses punishment and threats to correct our behavior; by contrast, God uses mercy and forgiveness. The absence of condemnation gives us the power to overcome what once overcame us. To convince us to reject the world and its sinful ways, God continually reminds us how attractive and beautiful heaven is. He also instructs us to declare in faith the passing away of earth, which is temporary. Yielding ourselves to Him allows Him to work through us to reach others through empathy and compassion, not through judgment. We must not settle for what we see around us, but instead focus on Jesus and on heaven because the best is yet to come..

God’s Ways vs. Man’s Ways (Part 2)

Summary

God doesn’t operate the way we do; His thoughts and actions are completely different from ours, and on a much higher level. Unlike religion, which tells us we must earn God’s blessings, God blesses us not because of what we do, but because of who He is. Religion says God will punish us with curses if we do not behave properly; however, Jesus took all of the curses meant for us when He went to the cross. Unlike under the law, under grace, God shows us mercy and favor without us having to deserve it; realizing that He’i no longer our harsh judge but now our loving Father increases our faith in Him.
