Daily Devotionals

Would you like to read the Word daily, but don’t know how to begin? Reading our Daily Devotionals is a good way to develop the habit of studying the scriptures.

“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases” (Psalm 103:2, 3, NKJV).

God’s benefits include all the blessings He pours on us out of His great love. Sin is a spiritual sickness; Jesus, the Great Physician, took all of mankind’s sins onto Himself when He went to the cross.

“Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: and the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him” (James 5:14, 15).

Jesus made healing available to us as one of His finished works; permanent healing is manifested when we accept His Word by faith. Neither sickness nor sin are God’s will.

“A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones” (Proverbs 14:30, NIV).

There’s an amazing connection between what we think and how it affects us physically, and God didn’t make any mistakes when He designed us this way. Meditating on His Word lets His peace move through us and keeps out envy and negative emotions.

“Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength” (Isaiah 26:4).

We can’t trust in our own strength, intellectual capabilities, financial expertise, college education, or in any glittery things the world values; they’ll eventually fail us. The true source of strength that won’t crumble when everything else is sinking is found only in God.

“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him” (1 John 5:14, 15, NKJV).

God always hears His children’s prayers. As our heavenly Father, He wants us to approach Him boldly, with no fear. This is plainly and simply stated, with no guesswork involved.

“Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much” (James 5:16).

Prayer is a powerful weapon that helps us win the spiritual battles we face each day. We don’t have to be perfect to pray, we just need to have the right spirit. Prayer and healing go hand in hand; when our hearts are in our prayers, God hears us.
