Daily Devotionals
Would you like to read the Word daily, but don’t know how to begin? Reading our Daily Devotionals is a good way to develop the habit of studying the scriptures.

“And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast” (1 Peter 5:10, NIV).
Pain and tribulation are found from time to time in everyone’s lives—there’s no avoiding it. This strengthens our character and purifies us. God promises us that when we endure it and persevere, He’ll carry us through the trouble.

“Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; Neither as being lords over God’s heritage, but being examples to the flock” (1 Peter 5:2, 3).
This Scripture provides wonderful guidance not only for church leaders but also for those who serve in a leadership capacity. Leaders should do what they do from the heart, not merely act out what they learned from a manual. True leadership is biblically-based.

“Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31).
Whatever we do in life, we should do it to glorify God, not for our own benefit. God in us gives us the power and ability to do things no one else can. When people notice, the credit should go to the one who blessed us with the ability.

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11, NKJV).
God has a purpose for each of our lives; to find out what it is, we simply need to tune in to Him and let Him lead us. We don’t have to fear; His plans for us are always exceedingly good.

“And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me” (2 Corinthians 12:9).
God doesn’t expect us to live perfect lives without making any mistakes; that’s why He extends His undeserved, unearned favor toward us. The more we miss the mark, the more opportunities He has to show up when we need Him and give us strength that we don’t have on our own.

“However, I am telling you nothing but the truth when I say it is profitable (good, expedient, advantageous) for you that I go away. Because if I do not go away, the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you [into close fellowship with you]; but if I go away, I will send Him to you [to be in close fellowship with you]” (John 16:7, AMPC).
We can’t possibly expect to live a successful life on our own without help from the Holy Spirit. He’s the Spirit of God Himself living in us; fellowshipping with Him guarantees that nothing will be able to overcome us.
