Daily Devotionals

Would you like to read the Word daily, but don’t know how to begin? Reading our Daily Devotionals is a good way to develop the habit of studying the scriptures.

February 14

Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world” (Psalm 46:10, NLT).

Stillness before God reminds us that His sovereignty transcends our circumstances. Trusting Him brings peace even when the world feels chaotic.

February 13

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free” (Luke 4:18, NLT).

When Jesus went to the synagogue at Nazareth, He quoted Old-Testament Scripture, indicating His intent to fulfill all the prophecies concerning Him with love and compassion. As believers, we’ve also been anointed to bring the good news to people.

February 12

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed” (Isaiah 61:1, NLT).

God’s calling equips us with His Spirit to serve others with hope and healing. True freedom and restoration come through His anointing, not through our own strength.

February 11

Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him… Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you” (Psalm 91:1, 2, 7, NLT).

Dwelling in God’s presence and spending time with Him brings unshakable peace and security, even in times of chaos. Trusting Him as our refuge assures us that His protection is greater than any danger we face.

February 10

But in that coming day no weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you. These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the Lord; their vindication will come from me. I, the Lord, have spoken!” (Isaiah 54:17, NLT).

God’s promise of protection and vindication reminds us that opposition, no matter who it comes from, can’t override His authority. Our security rests in His Word, which guarantees victory for those who serve and trust Him.

February 9

But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation,  God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. Once you had no identity as a people; now you are God’s people. Once you received no mercy; now you have received God’s mercy” (1 Peter 2:9, 10, NLT).

Our identity and worth are rooted in God’s mercy and calling, not in our past. Being chosen means living to reflect His goodness and light to a world still in darkness.
