Would you like to read the Word daily, but don’t know how to begin? Reading our Daily Devotionals is a good way to develop the habit of studying the scriptures.

“The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore” (Psalm 121:7, 8).
Believers are safe from the evil that overtakes so many others in the world. No matter where we go or what we do, we’re protected. We have God’s promise on this.

“Don’t be gullible in regard to smooth-talking evil. Stay alert like this, and before you know it the God of peace will come down on Satan with both feet, stomping him into the dirt. Enjoy the best of Jesus!” (Romans 16:20, MSG).
Evil can present itself in any form, at any time, and in any situation; as Christians engaged in spiritual warfare, we must be vigilant and alert to all types of attacks from the enemy. When we stand on God’s Word, we’re strengthened and ready for battle. The devil has been allowed to terrorize the world temporarily, but he is a vanquished foe.

“No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord” (Isaiah 54:17).
When we stand on God’s promises to us concerning our safety and security, we need not fear violence or aggression against us, our families, or our loved ones. We also don’t need to worry about any harm done to us through lies, slander, or false accusations.

“No one’s ever seen or heard anything like this, Never so much as imagined anything quite like it—What God has arranged for those who love him” (1 Corinthians 2:9, MSG).
God blessed us with our five senses and the ability to use our imagination any way we like, but even our own eyes, ears, and minds wouldn’t be able to grasp the wonderful things in store for us in heaven. The beauty of this promise is that we don’t have to understand it, just accept it by faith.

“God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us” (Ephesians 3:20, MSG).
God’s goodness and mercy are so vast that we could never comprehend them with our limited imaginations. However, we can begin to experience His love when we respond to His Spirit and let Him guide and direct us.

“The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good” (Psalm 53:1).
The world has its share of people who don’t believe God exists, and their lives reflect the thoughts they entertain. God sees these people as corrupt fools who commit disgusting acts before His eyes.
