Would you like to read the Word daily, but don’t know how to begin? Reading our Daily Devotionals is a good way to develop the habit of studying the scriptures.

“That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world” (Philippians 2:15).
Accepting God’s Word by faith and applying it to our lives makes us His children, whom He has sanctified and made holy. We’re made into new creatures, completely without sin in His eyes; we stand out like beacons in the dark.

“So we tell others about Christ, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all the wisdom God has given us. We want to present them to God, perfect in their relationship to Christ” (Colossians 1:28, NLT).
On our own, we’re imperfect human beings who struggle daily to do the right thing. But when Christ is in us and we’re in Christ, we’re perfected in Him. When religion tells us that we’re sinners, we can point to this Scripture to refute that claim.

“Thus saith the Lord, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the Lord thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go” (Isaiah 48:17).
When we seek God’s guidance in all areas of our life, we profit on every level. Applying His lessons to our life opens the door to financial blessings, as well as profitable results in all our endeavors.

“Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace” (Acts 18:9).
When God gives us a message, it’s something only we can hear because it’s directed specifically at us. If we respond to what He tells us, we’ll boldly speak the truth.

“And the Lord answered me, and said, write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry” (Habakkuk 2:2, 3).
Although this Scripture was written before Jesus came, it points to Him. God reveals to us the vision He has for our lives by writing it on the tablet of our hearts. It’s the truth because it comes straight from Him, and will be fulfilled in His time. Believing what He tells us empowers us to run when others can only crawl.

“And the child Samuel ministered unto the Lord before Eli. And the word of the Lord was precious in those days; there was no open vision” (1 Samuel 3:1).
In the Old Testament, messages from God to the people were rare. His Spirit hadn’t yet been given to the general population, but God spoke to Samuel because Samuel’s heart was turned toward Him. We now have direct access to God through the Holy Spirit.
