For the week of August 15, 2022 The Spiritual Law of Receiving

There are no guarantees in life. The only thing we can be confident of is its potential to throw the unexpected at us. Most people struggle with the situations they find themselves in. By contrast, believers can be confident that they’ve already received everything they need to overcome adversity because of the spiritual laws God put into operation.

We all want happy, healthy, successful lives. One of the differences between the world and Christians is that while others are deeply ensnared in self-effort to get want they want, those who believe in God’s unearned, undeserved favor toward them receive what He has already made available to them. Healing is one example. Because Jesus went to the cross to ensure our good health, we are healed by His stripes; those who believe this receive healing.

Deliverance from trouble is another example. Adversity happens to everyone, but our response determines our outcome. Most people simply accept sub-standard conditions because they don’t know any better. We can be thankful that, when we call upon God in the day of trouble, He will deliver us; this is one of the many promises we receive from Him.

Giving is a third example of receiving. Most people hang on to their money and see financial giving as a loss; however, God’s Word says differently. When we give, it will be given back to us, good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over. With the same measure that we give, it will be measured back to us.

The world doesn’t believe in spiritual laws, but they exist whether we agree with them or not. Therefore, it’s in our best interest to understand them. God is not mocked; whatever we sow, we’ll also reap. This applies not only to our finances but to all other areas of our lives. Applying spiritual laws guarantees our success, no matter what twists and turns life brings us.

Prayer:

Lord, Your Word gives us what we need to succeed in life. The spiritual law of receiving has made it possible for You to get Your blessings to us and for us to receive them. Thank You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
