Have you ever wrestled with a problem that seemed so enormous you felt it would overwhelm you? Everyone has, at one time or another. When we feel like we’re about to go under, talking to God about it in prayer can produce amazing breakthroughs. When we go to Him, we can be confident that His abundant favor toward us will get us through the tough times.

There’s a right way and a wrong way to pray. The wrong way is to beg God and plead for Him to do something He’s already done, because that’s based on the Old Testament way of thinking. Jesus, who is grace in human form, offered Himself as the perfect settlement for our sins when He died on the cross. The right way to pray is to thank and praise Him for what He did to make heaven accessible to us, give us a victorious life on earth, and make us righteous and holy like Him.

Before the cross, people had to work hard to be blessed by the Holy Spirit’s presence. After the cross, Jesus sent His Spirit to us with the promise that He would never leave us. When we encounter trouble, prayer from the heart reminds us of God’s presence and allows Him to use His supernatural ability to get us through it. This is God’s grace at work in our lives.

Our spoken prayers are powerful, which is why we must be careful how we pray. They should be based on our identity as God’s children, and they should be spoken in the authority that Jesus gave us as believers. They can move obstacles in our lives that previously seemed insurmountable. We can be grateful that grace provided a way for us to have regular, intimate conversations with God.

PRAYER:

Father, thank You for sending Your only Son out of Your great love for us. Grace took away the punishment we deserve, and instead gave us what we don’t deserve. He reconnected us to You and made available to us everything we need for happiness, success, and prosperity in every area of our lives. We praise Your holy name for this. Amen.
