For the week of May 18, 2020 Sharing God’s Limitless Vision

Most people never realize the power of their own thoughts. Depending on what we think, we can either limit ourselves to a mediocre standard set by the world or see ourselves as God sees us. There are no limitations with God, but we can sell ourselves short when we think small. Meditating on His Word gives us a true perspective of His big plan and how we fit into it.

In the Old Testament, when God told His people to enter into the land of milk and honey that He promised them, they wouldn’t cooperate. They believed the evil report they heard from the men who spied out the land and shrank back in fear. They saw themselves as inadequate and unable to complete the task, despite what God told them through His servant, Caleb. Their self-imposed limitations prevented them from entering in.

We can apply this important lesson to our own Christian walk. God wants us to realize our true potential, but the enemy will always throw obstacles in our way to try to keep us from moving forward. The enemy says, “Impossible, it can’t be done.” The truth is that everything is possible through Christ, but we must have faith in this promise.

Renewing our minds by meditating on the Word of God frees us from the mental and psychological limitations that the enemy tries to impose on us. Understanding who we are in Christ empowers us to overcome any barrier. When we share His vision for us, we can see the abundant life He wants for us. This limitless vision for life is available right now to those who have the courage to claim it.

Prayer:

Father God, because of the grace You have toward us, You gave us specific instructions on how to think. In Your infinite wisdom and understanding, You teach us to remove the limitations we place on ourselves. By Your Holy Spirit, You patiently point out instances when our thoughts and attitudes depart from Yours and You lovingly correct us. I acknowledge that You do this out of love, and I thank You in Jesus’ name. Amen.
