For the week of August 29, 2022 Letting the Holy Spirit Minister to Us

Life can be glorious, but it has too many moving parts for us to navigate on our own. We’ve all experienced times when we felt overwhelmed and needed expert guidance to work through an issue. We may turn to friends or family to help us through it, but people are flawed and can disappoint us. When we run into trouble, we need the Holy Spirit as our unseen partner.

The Spirit is the administrator of God’s favor, and He plays many roles. He’s our comforter, our counselor, our advocate, our strengthener, and the one who intercedes with the Father on our behalf. He calls to remembrance what we’ve learned from the Scriptures and convinces us to believe on Jesus and His love for us.

Not all sources of information in the world are reliable. When we’re confused about what’s true and what’s not, we need supernatural help to cut through all the chatter. God sent us His Spirit as the Spirit of truth because He knew we would need assistance from the Holy Ghost to succeed in life.

In our weakest moments, the Spirit is with us. Believers know to pray for strength and guidance during difficult times, but sometimes we just don’t have the right words. He helps us in our weaknesses; when we don’t know what we should pray for, He makes intercession for us with groanings that can’t be uttered.

The Holy Spirit can’t lie; He testifies of our heavenly Father and gives us wisdom and knowledge that’s inaccessible through our own efforts. He guides us into all truth because He doesn’t speak of Himself, only what He hears from God. Relying on Him gives us an advantage over the world because He shows us things to come.

The Spirit wasn’t sent to make us feel guilty or condemned, but to shed God’s love in our hearts. We find peace and joy when we have a relationship with Him. Letting Him minister to us brings breakthrough on every level.

Prayer:

Lord, You sent Your Spirit to convince us of Your love. The Spirit’s mission isn’t to make us feel bad, but to empower us and give us the strength and wisdom that comes only from You. Thank You for His presence. In Jesus’ name, amen.
