For the week of January 29, 2018 Take Your Faith from Imagination to Manifestation

The imaginations with which God has blessed us are amazingly powerful tools. We have the creative authority to bring to pass the things God has promised us in His Word. Visualizing in our mind’s eye what He has declared, and following up our own with verbal declarations and acts of faith bring about amazing manifestations. We can call those things that be not as though they were, but we must be on guard that the enemy doesn’t gain access to this gift.

Our imaginations have the capacity to work for us or against us, depending on who we let influence it. Not too long after God created the earth, the people imagined that they could build a tower that would reach all the way to heaven. The spirit that suggested this building program to them was working in direct contradiction to the Spirit of God. The people’s insistence on relying on their own self-efforts wasn’t God’s will, and their plans were frustrated.

This negative use of imagination is mentioned again in the New Testament when we’re cautioned against embracing thoughts, concepts, and ideas contrary to God’s Word. In our battle against the enemy, our weapons aren’t carnal, but spiritual. We must be careful to cast down imaginations and every philosophy that exalts itself against the knowledge of God.

Using our imaginations for good, not evil, is God’s will. Imagination differs from intellect because when we imagine something, we see it through the eyes of our heart. God’s grace is unlimited; therefore, our imaginations can also be free of limitations when we believe we will see the manifestations of what He promises. When what we visualize by faith lines up with what God says, worldly limitations cease to exist.

Prayer:

God, You gave us imagination, which allows us to see ourselves receiving what You want us to have. You also gave us Your Word concerning the proper use of this spiritual weapon. Thank You for empowering us to visualize what You see for us. In Jesus’ name, amen.
