For the week of October 12, 2020 Grace Rescues Us from the Pit

Life has its ups and downs, and every so often we’ve fallen into trouble with no way out. It’s a helpless feeling. Despite the predicaments we can get into, however, we’re never alone when we trust in God and His love for us. Having faith in the favor He has toward us allows Him to pull us out of any pit of despair we fall into, and place our feet back on solid ground.

As flawed human beings, we’re all prone to making bad decisions that bring unwanted consequences. These consequences can make us feel cut off, isolated, and stranded in our own personal wilderness. In times when it appears that we’ve hit a dead end, God makes a way in the wilderness where there is no way. If we believe this, all things are possible.

It’s not God’s will for us to get stuck in anything that keeps us from making forward progress. He wants the best for us, which includes victory over trouble. God is well aware of our tendency to make the wrong decision when we’re trying to handle the situation ourselves. If we’ve been born again, we’ve become His righteous children; when we cry for help, He hears and delivers us.

God is good, and He doesn’t like to see His children suffer or struggle. He takes full responsibility for delivering those who rely on Him, and He knows exactly how to deliver the godly from their trials. When we seek the Lord in bad times, He answers us and delivers us from all our fears. Therefore, we never have to be afraid of being overwhelmed by whatever we’re going through.

God is bigger and stronger than adversity. He has promised that He’ll never leave us, no matter what happens. This is something we can confidently believe

Prayer:

Lord, You love us and refuse to abandon us in times of trouble. When we find ourselves in a dilemma, You’re our game-changer. Thank You for Your deliverance. In Jesus’ name, amen.
