The Good Fight

Sept. 2, 2018 | By Creflo Dollar

Summary

In our spiritual warfare with the devil, using the Word of God as a weapon and standing on our believers’ authority helps us “get our fight back.” This battle is all about maintaining the victory that Jesus has already won for us. When He went to the cross, He obtained healing, deliverance, prosperity, soundness, answered prayer, and every other victory we will ever need in life. Fighting the good fight requires that we recognize the victories that have already been made available to us, and maintain them through our stance of faith. The enemy tries to deceive us into thinking we must work to get what God has already given us, the same way he deceived Adam and Eve. We must be on guard against this. As long as we stand firm on God’s promises, regardless of what is going on around us, we win.

  1. We do not have to give in to the enemy when Christ has already won the fight for us.
    1. We are fighting a spiritual battle against the enemy, and we must use our faith to win.
      1. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses (1 Timothy 6:12).
      2. Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might(Ephesians 6:10).
      3. We must stand firm in the victories Jesus has obtained for us and our children. As parents, we have that promise.
      4. Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it (Proverbs 22:6).
      5. And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children (Isaiah 54:13).
      6. When we exercise our faith in the Word, we have already won the battle. This is because Jesus won it for us. Therefore, we are not fighting for victory, but from victory.
    2. Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world (Ephesians 2:11, 12).
      1. To be in Christ means we are operating under the correct covenant. If we have no agreement with Him, we have no hope.
      2. Living under the correct covenant allows the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us.
      3. Letting God, instead of our emotions, guide us empowers us to love others even when they are unlovable.
      4. And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins” (1 Peter 4:8, NKJV).
      5. If we suffer betrayal or pain, we need to learn to let go and move forward. We cannot do this without the help of the Holy Spirit.
